Cross-track error

description

It would be very useful if the table of statistics (on the right hand side, starting with DIST: xxx at the top) could include cross-track error (abbreviated to "XTE" on many plotters) because this would give a quick way to know how far one is / meant to be from the rhumb line.

I don't see the objective as the shortest path may be the longest in time.

I completely agree that shortest route may take longer! ... But the objective of adding XTE would be to have a simple way to know exactly how far away from the track the boat ought to be. For example if the simulation shows that at 4pm the boat should be 5nm away from the rhumb line them one could compare that to the XTE on the boat's chart plotter (and either correct course, or convince rest of crew that the boat is correctly on the optimal route even if the boat plotter shows a XTE of 5nm!) That said this idea is a "nice to have" - your software is already amazing.
